If We Were Having Coffee: The Weather and Blog Lovin’

If we were having coffee, we’d talk about the weather. That’s right, the weather.

It’s crazy that while parts of the United States are overwhelmed with snow, we have been enjoying unusually warm temperatures all winter. Seriously, it’s not supposed to be 70ºF in January. I’ve had to continue to shave my legs regularly and get pedicures. One of the benefits of winter is that it’s so cold (or chilly) that I can slack off on upkeep. But noooooooo, not this winter. And lucky for us, we are having our winter all in one day. This Monday. Ugh!

Monday it is supposed to GO DOWN! By going down I mean the high is supposed to be right at freezing. That’s a big deal for us. We’ll be in the 40sº/50sºF by Tuesday and back to the 60s by the end of the week. So, our one possible shot at winter will be Monday. I’m hoping we will have another shot, but it is getting a little late in the game for that. Thanks for hogging all the snow Northeast!

If we were having coffee, I’d joke that the next season is testing season. Then, I’d stop because this is not time to go on about work stuff.

We’d talk about how I totally dropped the ball. I was going to designate February as the month of Blog Lovin’. All month long I would tweet awesome blog posts from different bloggers. My goal was to tweet to a day- no more no less. I read a blogger say somewhere (I really tried to remember where, but I couldn’t.) that someone sharing their blog post on social media was like receiving a virtual bouquet of roses. I’m all about that. So, one share in the morning and evening seemed doable. That meant I would share posts from 56 different bloggers. All those virtual roses? A month of Blog Lovin’ indeed.

I put a reminder on my Google calendar on January 28 to start tweeting other’s posts via Hootsuite.  Why Hootsuite? Because I’m all about tweeting smarter.

Then I slap forgot all about Blog Lovin’ February. Seriously, today I was driving home from running errands and eating a much deserved Humphrey Yogurt in my car; and I thought, “I slap forgot all about Blog Lovin’ February!”

So, March will be Blog Lovin’ March. That’s a happy accident anyway because March has 31 days which means 62 bloggers with whom I can share some of my my blog lovin. Better late than never.

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me about the weather?

  1. Reporting from Valley of the Sun, Az. Cloudy and windy now, but we’ve been averaging mid 80s last month or so. Supposed to rain on Saturday, we shall see.

    • Is Sun the same as Sun City, AZ? If so, I’ve actually been there or driven through it. I love the weather in AZ… in the fall. Summers are too dry and hot. Thanks for dropping by.

      • Close. Valley of the Sun is what we call the Phoenix Metro Area and surrounding cities, of which Sun City is one.

  2. If we were having coffee I would tell you it’s crazy cold in Chicago (once again, still, as always, etc.) and I am dreaming of spring and vicariously through vacation pics to keep me warm!

  3. I loved how you “slap forgot” to do various bloggy related things. This happens to me too. It’s the intention that counts, right? If we were having coffee together, I would tell you how warm and beautiful it is here in Seattle 🙂

  4. If we were having a coffee I would tell you that it is wet and windy here in London Town. We did have some snow a few weeks back but it was less than an inch. I am praying for sun tomorrow. I live in hope. 😉

    • My friends in England have been complaining about the cloudiness and rain. They do not find it funny when I joke that they should be used to it considering they live in the UK. I hope the sun will come out… tomorrow.

      • It is difficult to get used to, even for Brits. As for me, I wish for sun pretty much on the daily. On the bright side, at least we don’t have all that snow they have back home in the US.

  5. Today was in the 60’s. Tonight will be a low of 34 but with very high winds so it will feel colder than 34. I’ll be out babysitting at my daughters but it will be cold on the way home! I’m originally from California but live in Oregon now. You know, I once hear that the single reason cited by over 50% of people moving in to California was the weather on New Year’s Day when everyone could see bright sunny, warm weather during the televised Rose Bowl parade!

  6. haha….It was so chilly, and just as Mardi Gras hit! I’m glad that it’s going to warm back up a bit, but I wish we weren’t about to get torrential rain for a few days.

    • Yeah, we are having the crazy rain right now. Then, the cold will come once the rain heads your way. I skipped Mardi Gras festivities here (which is not the same as NO) due to my allergies shutting me down. That and I wasn’t in the mood for the crowds. I did other Mardi Gras stuff this season so I’m good.

I’m ready to be done with winter 2015. It’s been so gross.
